Definitely a great first post title. Kicking off with a cliche.

At least that's one of the more exciting Hello World programs written in the last ten years.
Now that we have discussed the cliche title of my first blog post, we can move on. As you can already tell, I'm not an experienced blogger. The hope is that this will change. Last year I was asked to write a few articles about synthetic biology and citizen microbiology (or DIYbio / "biohacking"). For example, I wrote this in a British Science Association magazine, which also appeared as a hard copy - exciting!
I also often feel that writing can be a very active part in developing thoughts, ideas and arguments and I want to develop the skill and habit. Writing something and publishing it in public is daunting. Even more so on a personal blog than in a professional publication. My aim is to write regularly, at least every two weeks for the next year. During this, I hopefully become more comfortable with crafting a piece of writing, and putting it out into the wild.
